Gregg grew up in Rock Island County in a blue-collar union family. His father worked at the Farmall plant and was a lifelong UAW member — until the plant shut down and the jobs left town.
At 19, Gregg began a career with the Illinois Department of Corrections, rising from officer to supervisor over thirty-two years, and served his coworkers as president of his AFSCME local. He lives in East Moline with his wife Celia and their daughter Gabby.
Since taking office in 2023, Gregg has shown up for the 72nd — putting workers, families, and our riverfront economy first.
